- The Clerk V.2.0
- by Sanford Finley
-
- This program was created to keep track of money. Who owes you money,
- and who you owe money. Simple.
-
- I own a small remodeling company and designed this to accomplish that
- end.
-
- You will find the Clerk to be fairly straightforward and self-explanitory
- in its operation. It is based on a invoice centered accounts receivable
- type system. You generate an invoice to your customer(s) and the Clerk
- will store it and keep track of due dates. Version 2.0 defers from earlier
- versions of the clerk in that I have added an accounts payable module.
- Other changes include the deletion of the keyboard option plus I added
- more color and windows (if you have to do accounting, I guess you shouldn't
- be stuck with a drab program).
-
- Operation
- Records are stored in a random file named "recs" and "bills"that are
- created when you first use the "create" option. You will be asked to
- provide Customer name, invoice #, date, invoice amount and payment made.
- After you have entered your first invoice, do not use "create" again
- unless you wish to erase all your records and start a new file. Other
- options include searching files, displaying records, aging report, changing
- records, delete records and receivables report. There are few bells &
- whistles, just a sensible (I hope) way to keep on top of things.

- Getting Started (Please Read)
-
-
- This is a arc'd file and because your records of receivables and payables
- can grow rather large, I'd suggest you place the files on a disk by
- themselves. You Must create a directory and name it "library". Also YOU
- MUST run the program from DF1 only. Put the bitmap files and the "nc.pic"
- files in the library directory and "The Clerk" in your root directory.
- Whew! After you've put the files in their proper place and made sure
- your disk is in DF1: then it should run smoothly from the icon (not cli).

- I am giving away my work for two reasons. I am sick of my wimpy friends
- telling how there is no PD business software for the Amiga and how I should
- get a IBM (bah, humbug). Also I'd love to hear your comments and suggestions
- as to what else you'd like to see in the way of business software and what
- you would like to see improved in the Clerk (this is a continuing project)
- So Email me via:
- Genie F700, Compuserve 71320,252 or PLINK c/o Goodbar.
- Or write me c/o Jonathan Pepper Company, 801 E. Ogden,
- Suite 1099, Naperville, IL 60566.
-
- May your receivables always double your payables......
